In Case You Missed It

Last week's presenter was Sharon Gibson Ellis, Chief Professional Officer of the United Way of Muscatine.  Sharon presented information on the September 10,2008 Day of Caring.  This was the second year for this community event in Muscatine.  Sharon shared many interesting facts like over 500 individuals participated in this year's event, which represented over 40 different companies in Muscatine.  Throughout the day long event teams of volunteers completed projects such as painting offices, yard clean up at senior citizens homes, moving, organizing, building a handicap accessible ramp, building shelves, and many more helpful projects.   Sharon expressed her gratitude for the community's support of this event and is looking forward to next year!

·         Second reading for membership of Robert Sutton, District Executive of the Illowa Council Boy Scouts of America.  If you have any concerns about this potential member please speak to a Board Member.

  October 20^th Happy News

·         Norm Smith is happy for the Illini and Hawkeyes football teams!

·         David Utley is delighted about the Hawkeye's win and Shonn Green's speed!

·         John Stevens is also excited about the Hawkeye's win over Wisconsin.  John also congratulated the MHS Volleyball team on their successful season.

·         Tom Williams is proud of the MHS Marching Bands success at the Division I completion.  Great job!

·         Don Holt was glad to see the Ohio State Buckeye's win-Go Bucks!
