Today's Program: Teen Pregnancy in Iowa - Christy Vilsack

In Case You Missed It

Monday's presentation was given by Brooke Mehaffey, Director of the American Red Cross Muscatine-Louisa Unit, Megan Francis, Health & Safety Coordinator for the Red Cross, and Mary Odell, Director of Unity Public Health, on the seasonal flu and H1N1.  Our presenters shared important information on how to be prepared and prevent the spread of germs during flu season.  There are some valuable tips:

-The Three C's: Clean-wash your hands for at least 15 seconds with soap and water, Cover- your sneezes or cough with a tissue or in your elbow, Confine-stay home when you are sick

-Always have two weeks of food for you and your family

-Use hand sanitizer after you shake someone's hand, open a door, etc.

-Get a seasonal flu vaccine

-Eat healthy, drink lots of water, and get plenty of rest

To learn more about this important topic please contact Brooke at 263-6124 or Unity Public Health.
