Stan Howe Recognition by Rotary: Dick Stanley provided a wonderful tribute to Stan Howe in recognition of his Major Donor Contribution to Rotary International. Dick mentioned Stan's admirable leadership within our community and as a corporate citizen. He joined Rotary in 1950 and became President of our club in 1960. His recognition award is a major donor crystal, as well as, a lapel pin with 3 diamonds on it. His other contributions to Rotary have provided him with Paul Harris contributions leading to a pin with 5 sapphires and 3 ruby's. What a role model to emulate!! Helen and son Jim shared in Stan's recognition.

Program: Scott Natvig introduced Mike and Bev Chapman as our speaker guests for today. Mike has written 22 books and produced 3 documentaries. Mike's mission is to keep history alive in our state of Iowa. He delighted us with stories about Fred Becker, Nile Kinnick, Doreen Wilber and Jack Trice. These individuals strove to be the very best through their athletics and in their life. Often giving up their life in military pursuits that called for life giving valor.

Mike's latest venture is the "Iowa History Journal" which he is writing to keep the people and places of Iowa alive to our generation and beyond. Mike left us inspired and excited about our fellow Iowans!!
