Today's Program: Reason's Meats presented by Greg Boruff

In Case You Missed It

Monday's presentation was given by Pat Hand and Becky Allgood of the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum.  The Hoover Presidential Library and Museum became an official Presidential Library in 1962 and has the largest land mass of all Presidential Libraries.  Memberships for the library are available and provide benefits for many other libraries across the country.  One of the programs that is unique to the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library is the "Uncommon Student Award".  This award is given to students who are serious about tackling social issues in their community.  This award is available for any Iowa high school junior who has a plan to overcome a hurdle in their community.  Each year over 100 applications are reviewed and three students will receive $1,000 award and one student will receive $5,000 award.  The focus of this award is to inspire students to make a difference.  To learn more about this unique opportunity for Iowa high school students please visit http://www.hooverassociation.org/grantsawards/uncommon_student.php
