In Case You Missed It

Our presentation was given by Scott Beatty on MCC softball team.  In 1997 Scott became the head coach of the girl's softball team.  Since taking this role the girls have been regularly ranked in the top ten and have recently moved to Division I competition.  Scott is very proud to be a part of MCC and the Muscatine Community.  Scott places a very high emphasis on education coming first and softball second.  He said that it is important that the young ladies learn life skills and things about themselves, because softball won't last forever.  The team has a 43-11 record and an overall 78% winning record.  Many of his players have been awarded as All American players, All American Academic Team, and have a graduation rate of 97%.  This year there will be 24 ladies on the team with the majority of those being from the local area.  To learn more about the MCC softball team visit their website at http://www.eicc.edu/athletics/mcc_softball/index.html.
