In Case You Missed It

Last week's presenters were members from the Muscatine FFA.  Lane, Michael, Elizabeth, Danielle, Dawn, Zach, and Rachel shared with us parts of their competitive Career Development presentations.  Some of the topics presented were on Parliamentary Procedure, Carbon Credits & Global Warming, FFA Creed, and other extemporaneous speeches.  These students will be going to districts in two weeks.  Dave, FFA Advisor, thanked Rotary and Muscatine for all of their support of our youth and the FFA program.

 

March 2nd Guests

  • Zach Klipsch, former member of North Scott Rotary Club
  • Jake Adams, MHS Counselor, accompanied our student guests: Hannah Wilke, Justin Wright, Cody Williams, and Chelsea Winegard.

March 2nd Club Announcements

  • Our condolences go to the family of Donald Cook, former District Governor.  Donald recently passed away.
  • Sharon Gibson Ellis-Membership Committee will host two 7:30 a.m. meetings every month at Snackers to serve as make up opportunities for those who have missed a meeting.  The first opportunity will be on March 17th.  All are welcome even if you do not have a meeting to make up for!
  • On each table are thank you notes from the students who received dictionaries this year.

Happy News

  • Marv Krieger is proud of his granddaughter for her success on St. Thomas University's swim team.  Her team has qualified to compete at the national collegiate level.
  • Dale Lucht is happy and sad to announce that he and his wife will be relocating.  Dale has been presented with any opportunity that he cannot pass up in Chicago.  He thanked everyone for their fellowship and hopes to join another Rotary Club when they relocate.
  • John Hintermeister recently traveled to Central America.  While there John had the opportunity to visit another Rotary Club.
  • Keith Porter is happy for the MHS Show Choir's success.  Varsity Show Choir placed 2nd and JV Show Choir placed 6th in recent competitions.
  • Diana Gradert is proud of Wilton Boy's Basketball success this year.  Diana has two grandsons on the team.
  • Harvey Allbee is happy about the Illini's recent victories over Iowa in "numerous" sports.
