Today's Program: Tsunami. It's In the Weather

In Case You Missed It

Craig Bode introduced Josie Nickols as guest of Niki Nienhaus who was today's speaker.   The program was on Partners For Success which helps women get back into the workforce.   Niki told about moving from the Batterson Building to the former Volunteers and Information building.  Silver cord members, various churches, and many volunteers help with this program. Every other Wednesday classes are given to women and every other Thursday classes are for men.  She is also looking for volunteers to help with the teen classes, helping with resumes, coaching, and mock interviews.  They also offer image consulting. Sunday Sneakers is another program that they have started.  Many students don't have supplies or shoes for school.  Walmart and Blaines gave 10% off, the Community Foundation gave $3,000 and there were other private donations for this program which supplied 900 pairs of tennis shoes.  They have received another $3,000 to continue the project.

Classes are free, however those receiving services are expected to give 10 hours community service time to pay for the services.  Many of the mothers have children so they are now supplying preschool through 5th grade with 5 outfits for children.
