Happy News/Announcements:  Lindsey Phillips: Community Y roaring 20s raffle, drawing Friday Nov. 12th at noon. The proceeds from the raffle will support all of the programs of the Y, including Big Brothers Big Sisters and Special Olympics. Frank Iliff- Rebuilding Together  completed 2 ramps this past weekend and will look to complete 4 more this year. John Kuhl for Larry Hetzler: Muscatine Symphony Orchestra: MasterWorksII: “Elegant Prowess,” featuring international virtuoso violinist Sirena Huang. November 13, 2021 @ 7:00 PM. Mark you calendar for 20th Anniversary Celebration Event January 7 2022. Naomi DeWinter: Thank you to the group who helped plant the remaining flags for Veterans Day display at MCC.
 
Club Announcements: November Fundraising Project: Operation Warm Coats- We will collect funds for the month of November to purchase warm coats for children in need right here in Muscatine.  At the next 4 meetings we will have a coat displayed and we ask members to clip donations to the coat.  Each coat costs $17 and must be purchased in boxes of 12 coats, our goal is at least $612 to purchase 3 boxes of coats. If you would like to arrange a donation outside of a regular meeting please contact Megan Francis at mfrancis@muscatinevision2020.org.  Membership- Rotary has a goal to grow membership for the Rotary Year- our club currently has 65 members. The membership promotion is referred to as “Each One Bring One” For the month of November we are asking each member to bring a guest to at least one meeting to introduce them to the club.  All guests will be free for the month, and potential members always receive a free meal. For each guest a member brings to a meeting they will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card.

Hannah Howard- Muscatine native, graduated from Iowa State University. She has served in a number of roles in non-profits and as a community volunteer.  Known for her work as President of Branching Out and organization responsible for planting dozens of trees in Muscatine. Now Director of Business Services and Advocacy for the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry working with business leaders to make Muscatine a great place to live, work and play.

Goals of the Chamber:  Economic Development, Quality of Life, Member Success, and Organizational Improvement.  Business Services and Advocacy- Business After Hours, Ribbon Cuttings- (Upcoming Nov 18th at Sunrise Galleries), Chamber Ambassadors, #MakeItMuscatine Gift Cards.  Community Relations (Rebecca Paulson): Muscatine Magazine, Talent Cultivation and  Workforce Development- Job Fairs with Iowa Works and Lunch and Learn Series, Community Shred Event with Crossroads.  Return to Better: Muscatine Chamber receives $200K grant to aid entrepreneurship. On Going Coffee Club focus Entrepreneurial Journey. #MakeItMuscatine Start Up Grants15 total grants since Oct 2020. Tourism: 6 #MakeItMuscatine Event Grants including Food Truck Fight and Octobrewfest.  Visit Muscatine Media Ad Buy and promotions. Look for an upcoming Visit Muscatine Commercial.
