Mike Ruby: Update on Polio eradication efforts. Rotary is committed to continue Polio efforts in Afghanistan. Jessica Wittman: Enjoyed a successful Party in the Park Fundraiser for the Bird House Hospice House.  The Bird House provides hospice services to residents of Johnson County and surrounding areas including Muscatine County.  Check out the Website: www.hospicehomejc.orgLindsey Phillips: Over the Edge September 24th.  Looking for Rope volunteers, these volunteers guide the ropes at the event and will get a free repel the day before.  We are also looking for Edgers to go over the Edge, there is still plenty of time to fundraise. Speaker Introduction: Brian Stineman- Public Works Director
Brian Stineman has been the Public Works Director for the City of Muscatine since 2016. In this role he oversees the operations of eight divisions including: Roadway Maintenance, Collection & Drainage (sewers), Solid Waste, Buildings & Grounds, Vehicle Maintenance, Engineering, Administration, and Transit (Muscabus).  Brian has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Iowa, and a Masters of Public Administration from Drake University. He has been married to his wife, Rebecca, for 26 years and they have three children ages 21, 19, and 17. He enjoys hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities, and is an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Bears. Since the Cubs are pretty much done for the year, he is anxiously awaiting football season!

  • Current and Ongoing projects: Park Avenue 4 to 3 Lane Conversion

  • Asphalt Street and Alley Overlay
Park Ave 4-3 lane conversion – mostly Federal funding- Should be done Sept 2021
2nd Street Streetscape Project- TIF Funding- On track to finish Oct 2021
Grandview Reconstruction- Funding: Transfer of Jurisdictions Funds from State & City of Muscatine. Project has had delays due to supply chain and needs for some specialty supplies.  Starting to pick up momentum again.  Still hopeful end in Fall 2022.
West Hill Sewer Separation Phase 5 of 7- Funding: Local Option Sales tax. Planning in works for Phase 6 so project keeps moving forward. Phase 5 projected to end Fall of 2022.
Concrete Full Depth Patching is a continual Pavement Management project prioritizing heavily damaged areas.  Funding is Road Use Tax.  Projects continue yearly as well as Alley Overlay.
