Invocation: Greg Bock
Happy News/Announcements: Greg Bock announced that Shomy Hasan Chowdhury was named to Forbes 30 under 30 Asia 2021: Social Impact list. Naomi DeWinter shared MCC will be having a bake sale with items provided by the culinary program, all proceeds will go to MCSA. Diana Broderson shared that the Spring Into Dance was a wonderful ballet performance at the Riverfront this past weekend.
Club Business: May 10th will be our first In-Person meeting. This meeting will be hybrid so members can attend on zoom as well. May 17th was scheduled to be a fellowship meeting while we have been meeting on zoom. With the return to in person meetings would people like a speaker for this meeting or have it remain a fellowship meeting. Please share any thoughts with a board member, and an announcement will be made at the May 10th meeting.
Program: Our program was an overview of Muscatine 101, shared by City Administrator, Carol Webb. Carol grew up in Ottumwa, and is excited to be back in Iowa from her recent job in Ft. Collins, CO. Carol brings passion and knowledge from her previous work to this new position. The City Philosophy is Exceptional Service for the Muscatine Community. With not quite a year under her belt Carol has really immersed herself in the City Departments to get an understanding of all operations, she has completed ride-alongs with emergency vehicles and city services. Carol invites members to join in on City Council meetings presented virtually on Go Meeting or on the City YouTube channel, agendas and information are always found on the City website.
