We had our meeting on Zoom.

Recap from the December 14, 2020 club meeting:

Invocation:  Greg Bock

Happy News/Announcements:  Greg Bock is excited to start his Red Kettle stay on the 17th (he is going to live in the kettle) - this brings awareness to the Red Kettle Campaign - donations can be mailed to the Salvation Army at 1000 Oregon St, Muscatine.  Keith Porter is happy that vaccinations are starting for the Covid19.  Rick Gosney is excited for the shortest day of the year next week, days will start getting longer!  Diana Broderson is happy that the fire fighters in Muscatine received a grant for $260,000 and bought 40 new self contained breathing apparatus.  Greg Bock was happy that $19,000 has been raised for the Salvation Army by the Sheriffs Dept and Police Dept.  Mike Ruby is happy of the article in the paper about our club donating heart monitors to the high school.

Club Business:  Greg Bock said the club had 9 orders for the holiday flower fundraiser - they are available for pick up on the 23rd.  3rd reading for Kayla Bartling becoming a new member.  If you would like to donate to Paul Harris/Rotary Foundation for 2020 credit - please mail check by the end of the week.

Program:  Our program was Steve Grubbs - founder and creator of Chalkbites, Inc (and many other tech companies).  WFA - Work From Anywhere - really took off in March due to Covid19 and people having to not only work from home, but be trained at home.  His company creates VR (virtual reality) class rooms for training and learning.  Varying for ex: fork truck training/certification to in room classrooms and labs.  A digital twin is an object or space that has been recreated in a digital world.  Steve showed us samples of a class taught virtually with models/lab and classroom settings.  74% of company's plan to permanently shift to more remote work post Covid19.  It is estimated that 25-30% of the workforce will be work from home multiple days a week by the end of 2021.    Thank you Steve Grubbs

Reminders:  There will not be meetings on December 21 or 28.  Our next meeting will be January 4, 2021.

See you next year - 2021 -   I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
