Happy News/Announcements:  Naomi DeWinter said the first week back for students at MCC was a great success.  Greg Bock was happy that the Kettle Campaign is a 'go' for this year.  It starts the day after Thanksgiving.  Diana Broderson was happy that Musco has started to repair the lights on the bridge today. Megan Francis let us know that our Rotary Club is putting together a team of people for United Ways Day of Caring on September 23.  We will have a team from 8:00 until noon and another team from 1:00 to 5:00.  Let a board member know if you are interested.  
 
Cowbell Ringing:  Rick Gosney rang the bell for Megan Francis.  Thank you Megan for working with Discover Muscatine on the Rotary article about face masks.

Program:  Our program was Christy Roby Williams.  She provided us with information and statistics on Muscatine County's response to COVID 19.   Christy Roby Williams has been the Director of Muscatine Public Health for 8 years.  The first confirmed case of COVID 19 in Muscatine county was March 13, 2020.  As of today there have been 962 confirmed cases in Muscatine county, this is a 12.3% positive test rate.  There have been 51 deaths, this is a rate of 5.3% of those tested. 782 people have recovered.  She shared with us charts showing the peak time frame of cases as well as cases by age, sex and race.  Christy Roby Williams also shared with us the Public Health incident command structure and how Iowa is tracking COVID 19 through case investigation and contact tracing.  Promotion of precautionary measures:  stay 6 feet apart, covering cough and sneezes, wear a face covering when 6 feet isn't an option, avoid touching your face, wash hands/hand sanitizer, clean frequent surfaces at home and work, and stay home when ill.  "If we can contain, we can sustain."  For more info:  https://idph.iowa.gov   or  www.cdc.gov   or  coronavirus.iowa.gov   Thank you
