We had our meeting on Zoom.

Recap from the July 20, 2020 Club Meeting:
Invocation:  Paul Fitzpatrick shared a video and song - "The New Normal"

Happy News/Announcements:  Rick Gosney said Happy Birthday to Doug Krieger and Sal LoBianco, they celebrated birthdays last week.  Jordon Lloyd let us know that Sunnybrook is having lunch for a cause this week benefiting Muscatine School District.  'Stuff the Sunnybrook bus' is happening now - fill their bus with school supplies - donate if you like.

Cowbell Ringing:  Rick Gosney ran the bell for Keith Porter.  Keith offered up a Zoom portal for our club to use for meetings.

Club Business:  We have ordered 250 masks to distribute to our members and the public - that are blue and say "Muscatine Rotary Cares".  There have been some previous Rotary members pass away - Tim Nelson (member from 2004 - 2017), Jack May (member from 1977-2001), and John Hintermeister (member from 2007-2014).  The Board will be meeting via Zoom today at 1:00.  We have 2 openings for board members if you are interested.  If you are interested in being club secretary or treasurer, let a board member know.

Program:   Our program was District 6000 Foundation Chair - Chris Knapp.  Chris has been a member of Rotary since 1989.  Chris thanked us for having him be our program and also said he really enjoyed attending our 100 year celebration back in February.  Last year the Rotary Club of Muscatine donated $8902 to Rotary Foundation and $900 to end polio now - which turned into $2700 due to matching.  There are currently 3580 members in district 6000.  Membership, public image and awareness and the Rotary Foundation are all tied together.  Chris presented a slide show that emphasized the importance, impact and statistics of Rotary Foundation.  Over the past 12 years the global impact for Rotary Foundation:  95 grants, $5.2 million in grants, and estimated 900,000 people impacted.  There are many ways to give - auto deduction, annual gift, quarterly gift, bequest endowment, cash, rmd and more.  Thank you Chris Knapp.

Next week - July 27th will be a fellowship/social meeting.  Our next regular meeting will be Monday, August 3rd.  Keep a look out in your e-mail for meeting details from Rick Gosney.  Have a great week.
