Happy News: Diana Gradert was happy that this years Eagles and Ivories event was a success. Holly Thomas-Koehler reminded us of our guest bartender fundraiser event on February 6th from 5-7:00 p.m. at Contrary Brewery. Mike Hagerty will be our guest bartender. Holly also let us know of a fundraiser event for Almost Friday Fest - February 25th - Almost Mardi Gras at the Merrill Hotel. Greg Bock let us know of the passing of the Muscatine Lions Club President. Shane Orr let us know that Muscatine was recognized in the Iowa Governor's Condition of the State Address. The Governor will be visiting Muscatine on Wednesday. Megan Francis reminded us of Sunnybrook's lunch for a cause on February 12th - the cause this month will be Rotary Club of Muscatine's 100 year celebration. Megan also reminded us of the Walk to End Alzheimer's on August 15th this year. Melanie Alexander will be going to the Quad Cities to interview for a broadcast about the Muscatine Art Center. Mike Ruby asked any of us club members that have access to electronic marquis if we could have them display 'Congratulations Rotary Club of Muscatine on your 100 year Anniversary', etc. to get the word out. Mike also reminded us to keep a look out for the special Rotary insert in Discover Muscatine this week. Save our copies and bring to Rotary.
Cowbell Ringing: Jessica Wittman rang the bell for Megan Francis, she is the head of the membership chair for us and has been making sure our events get on the community calendars in the Discover Muscatine and the Voice.
Program: Melanie Harkness was our speaker. She provided us information on the Fairport Fish Hatchery.
Club Business: This Saturday, February 1st is our 100 year Celebration at the Merrill Hotel Ballroom. There will NOT be a Rotary meeting on February 3rd. Thursday, February 6th will be our guest bartender fundraiser at Contrary Brewery.
Our next regular club meeting will be Monday, February 10, 2020 at the Rendezvous at noon.
