Program:  Greg Bock - Salvation Army
 
Recap from the December 9, 2019 Club Meeting: 
Visitors:  Adam Lindquist was the guest of Melanie Alexander. 
 
Happy News:  Jessica Wittman was happy that she got casted in the City Central production of Evita!  Greg Bock shared with us that Mike Ruby has done a great job heading up the Red Kettle Campaign.  Greg was also happy that the big red kettle is complete - he will be in it on December 18th at Hy-Vee, raising funds.  Frank Iliff was happy with all the carts of food he has picked up for the food rescue program.  Megan Francis let us know of lunch for a cause at Sunnybrook this Wednesday, the 11th - contact Sunnybrook if you are interested.  Also at Sunnybrook on the 11th from 3:00 to 4:00 there will be an open house to honor Richard Vetter, celebration of his induction into the Special Olympics Iowa Hall of Fame.  Melanie Alexander was happy that Adam Lindquist was with her at Rotary - he has been visiting many schools around Muscatine as Theodore Roosevelt.  Scott Ingstad extended his congratulations on Richard Vetter's induction into the hall of fame. 
 
Cowbell Ringing:  Jessica Wittman rang the bell for Diana Gradert being in the December 4th Discover Muscatine paper for her role in the Peace Village.  Mike Ruby was on Facebook live for the Salvation Army. 
 
Club Business:  John Krieger was inducted into Rotary today.  John was proposed by his grandfather Marv Krieger.  John is the 4th generation of Krieger's to be in Rotary, Marv's father was also a Rotarian.  If you would like to ring the bell for Salvation Army, go to registertoring.com or call the salvation army office.   Save the date for February 1st - our 100 year celebration at the Merrill.  Don't forget to get your Rotary koozie - donation purchase. 
 
Program:  Our program was Brandon Bullock - President of HON Company.  Brandon has been with HON since 2018, prior to HON, he was with Whirlpool Corporation.  Brandon shared the HNI strategic framework with us:  focus on profitable growth, member/owner driven, customer first mindset, effortless winning experiences, and own operational excellence.  HON value proposition of being 60% service driven and 40% product driven - they need to be harmonious.  HON transformation going forward:  transform to customer 1st organization, focus more on the end user.  In the past they have been more dealer focused.  In 2020  - new brand positioning is being launched.  HNI employs about 7500 in the state of Iowa and 9900 worldwide.  There 2020 outlook is good!  Thank you Brandon Bullock. 
 
Our next meeting will be Monday, December 16, 2019 at noon at the Rendezvous.
