Recap from the November 18, 2019 Club Meeting:
Visitors:  Heidi Hora with Marriott International was the guest of Jessica Wittman.

Happy News:  There was so much Happy News that I could not record it all!  The microphone was passed around all the tables and practically everyone had happy news:)  Our money cup was overflowing by the time we were finished!!!

Cow Bell Ringing:  Jessica Wittman rang the cowbell for Frank Iliff finding the Rotary bike rack that was missing.  It needs a new coat of paint and will be as good as new.

Club Business:  Reminder of the Christmas flower arrangement fundraiser - deadline for orders is Monday, November 25.    An anonymous donor will match $1000 if we raise $1000 for Salvation Army,  AND the anonymous donor will also donate $1000 to Rotary Polio Fund.  Great!

Program:  Our speaker was Steve Dakin from Sukup.  Steve as been with Sukup for 44 years.  He is also our District Governor Elect from the Boone, IA Rotary Club.  Sukup was founded in 1963 and is located in Sheffield, IA.  The company has a family oriented culture and currently has 4 generations of the Sukup family working at the company. Core business is grain bins, dryers, steel buildings,  and grain equipment.  When the 2010 earthquake hit Haiti causing terrible devastation, Sukup wanted to help.  They came up with steel homes similar in shape of grain bins, called Safe T Homes.  The bins cost about $7000 to build, can be put together with simple hand tools in 4 hours, and provide 389 square feet of living space.  They are very sturdy and have been used as shelters during hurricanes.   Thank you Steve.

Our next meeting will be Monday, November 25, 2019 at noon at the Rendezvous.
