Invocation:  Bobbie Holliday

Recap of March 4, 2019 Club Meeting:
Happy News:  Jim Hayes had a knee replaced 5 weeks ago and his wife was in an automobile accident on her way to pick him up from the hospital.  Jim was thankful that the events took place now, instead of 10 to 15 years ago, his wife may not have survived the accident and his recovery would not be going as well.   Shane Orr was happy that the MHS Jazz Ensemble took 2nd place at the Southeast Iowa Competition and they are going to State.  Shane's son, Ody, was accepted into the Honors program at the University of Iowa - and so was another RYLA student.

Club Business:  The second reading was done for prospective members Lisa Werner sponsored by Jim Nepple, and Jeff Wenger sponsored by Erika Cox.

Program:  Our program today was a District 6000 video put together by our District Governor Tom Narak.  The video focused on growing our clubs and also provided an update on polio eradication and Paul Harris Society.  Only 17 out of 65 clubs have grown in the last year.  Membership is at 3705, down from 3870.  After the video each table discussed / answered questions from our District Governor.  What we need to do to grow our club?  What are the top things we would like a visitor to observe in our club?  How best can our club share information in our community?  List 3 reasons why giving to the Rotary Foundation is important?  The answers were gathered and sent to our District leadership.

Our next meeting will be March 11, 2019 at the Rendezvous.
