Happy News: Megan Francis let us know of the Lifelong Learning Series: Historic Toys - happening at Sunnybrook on November 8, 2018. Holly Thomas-Keohler reminded us that December 5 is Rotary's day to ring the bell for the Salvation Army - a sign up sheet will be passed at next weeks meeting. She also let us know that November 14 is World Diabetes Day. Scott Ingstad was happy that is grand daughter Olivia attended a private practice with the Iowa Hawkeye's Luca Garza for her birthday.
Club Business: 3rd reading for Frank Iliff, Angela Boelens, Kelly Rushford and Jim Hayes. Caroline Levine reminded us of the sign up sheet for "The Humans" play at MCC on November 15th. Shane Orr let us know that we can fill out donation sheets to support the Imagination Library and the trail signage/dog park. Please fill out and turn in to Kim Warren our Treasurer.
Program: our program was Thad Burkamper. Thad is a Mentalist. A mentalist is someone that takes the existing 5 senses and creates a 6th sense. By concentrating on peoples voices, facial expressions and body language, etc - it gives the appearance of mind reading. Thad demonstrated his talent with various card tricks. It was truly amazing. Thad also shared that the more you focus on the positive things going on around you everyday, it starts to become natural to only see the positive - you will actually tune out the negative. He will be performing at the High School on November 16th at 7:00 pm.
