Program: Amanda McKee provided an informative program on the Home Visitation Programs offered by Lutheran Services in Iowa. HOPES and Parents as Teachers are 2 of the three programs offered to families on a voluntary basis.  The goal is to provide good parental relationships with the children and to help children and families meet the milestones for early progress.   HOPES is intended also to help families connect with commuity resources and to meet other parents.  Amanda provided members with the referral form and indicated the criteria for participation.  She also encouraged participation in BLUE OUT Day which is April 6, 2018 and is the kickoff to Child Abuse Prevention Month!  Involvement in HOPES has been shown to impact children repeating a grade in school and helping them excel in school!!  LSI has a partnership with local police departments and helps provide car seat safety and car seats to children and families in need of such!!
