Happy News: Guests included:  Ashley Lovelace, Angi Kopi, Libby Goodman, Assistant District Governor, Scott Davis guest of Rick Gosney and a first reading for Jeremy Pickard guest of Naomi DeWinter.  Judi Holdorf shared an important Rotary Moment expressing the importance of Rotarians as one collective body doing good in the world. Bobbi Holliday updated us on the Day of Caring Tree Project and asked for volunteers to sign up. Happy News: Bobbi Holliday is happy about her son's internship. Mary Wildermuth reminded members to vote in the School Board Election tomorrow! Marv Krieger and family will appear on the History Channel at 6:00 am this coming Sunday, September 17! Rich Dwyer reminded us of the Pearl Progress Project and asked for contributions; he also is proud of Kent's large donation to Iowa State University in the form of $8 million to the Feed and Ag Program. Additionally Rich left a $29 check in honor of being married 29 years!! Ken Brooks reminded us of the Boy Scout sign up at 2900 Mulberry on the 19th! Judi Holdorf noted that the Rotary Moment Video would be linked to our facebook page and that the Pearl Progress Project has a fund at the Community Foundation. Erika noted that Scott Ingstad, judi Holdorf and Alan Ostergren have Rotary Anniversaries this month and that Bob Jensen had a birthday!!
 
Program: Ashley Lovelace presented an informative program regarding the prevention of Colorectal Cancer.  "Get Your Rear in Gear"  is intended to remind folks to be screened and that most Colon Cancers are preventable. 2014 marked the 10th anniversary of the "Get Your Rear in Gear" campaign.  She hopes we will pay attention to our bodies, talk to our families and be sure to ask your doctor about those tough questions.  Bryan Fessler led the local race for 5 years in honor of his wife Ellen.  The local race this year is on September 30, 2017 at 5:30 pm at Discovery Park.  For more information check the facebook and website pages.
