Club News and Happy News:  Charla Schafer Director of MCSA was introduced and had a first reading as a new member. We are still looking for volunteers to help with the 4th of July Parade as Block Captains to get the parade organized and off to a great start!   Mary recognized Nathan Mather (5 years Rotarian), Gayle Roberts (20 years Rotarian) and Marv Krieger, the stellar Rotarian of 66 years!!  Kudos to Marv!!
 
In regard to Happy News: Melanie Alexander announced several upcoming lunch or breakfast meetings regarding the Air Conditioning Project at the Art Center as an update and collaboration between the Art Center Support Foundation, the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust and the Community Foundation of Muscatine.
 
Harvey Allbee was grateful and happy to attend his the last grandchild's high school graduation and soon he will attend his first grandchild's wedding!! Cristian Lopez is grateful for the United Way's support of the Salvation Army's Summer Camp and great volunteer support!!
 
Program: Naomi De Winter introduced Christine Powers who presented an informative program on the IT Apprenticeship and Internship Program provided by Eastern Iowa Community College District. By 2020 1.4 million IT jobs will be needed. Christine is here to help local companies fill that need.  She needs a job description and a curriculum will be tailored to the needs of the job and workplace.  In some cases, existing employees can earn and learn at the same time.  Christine also is knowledgeable of available funding sources to help employers pay for the wages of these employees, as well!!  Christine is looking for 8-10 local worksites to begin the program locally.
