Rotary Update:  Macy Morrow was a guest of Chris Steinbach.  Macy shared her RYLA experience and talked about the MHS Senior Survivor Week and Activities. Sarah Lande and Tony Joseph talked about the Chinese Symphony on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 7:00 pm at the Performing Arts Center.  Mary Odell shared that the Rotary Photo Directory is complete and has been emailed, as well as, being available online at Muscatinerotary.org. Special thanks to Jessica Wittman and Mary Wildermuth for their work on the directory. Chris Steinbach is happy that Macy is working hard on the Senior Survivor Charity...MCSA.  Melanie Alexander is happy that the Mississippi River Collection is showing at the Figge.  Karen Diercks enjoyed "The Little Mermaid" Middle School production with her granddaughter as Ariel.  Mary Odell contributed a $ for Todd Poci and his willingness to fill in as President. 
 
Program: Tim Nelson introduced Ardyth Slight and C.J. Ryan who discussed the Muscatine County Sheriff's Department.  Muscatine County is the 14th largest county in Iowa with the 7th largest jail.  Muscatine is now housing 88 federal prisoners with a revenue of $1.9 million.  The new radio system is just about completed at Central Dispatch which is at the City of Muscatine Police Department.  Muscatine County has specialized services for DIVE Teams, SOR- Sex Offender Registry, the Drug Task Force, as well as, Patrol,Investigation and Civil Processes.  Muscatine County will soon have Drug Take Back Boxes which are for the securement of old prescription medications to augment getting them off the streets.  Prescription drug use leads to heroin use.  All of these drugs are in every town in Iowa. Question and answer time provided Rotarians with specifics regarding questions of personal interest!
