Rotary and Happy News: Mike Ruby attended the One Rotary Summit in Des Moines and encouraged participation in the West Liberty Summit next week. Shane Orr reminded us of our Service Projects including Operation Warm Coat and the need for Golf Cart Drivers for the Healthy Living Festival on October 3rd. Contributions for the Warm Coat projects can be made to the Community Foundation.  We only need $375.  The Vintner Dinner is October 15, 2015 at Geneva with Tickets available for $35.  Sarah and Roger Lande dined in Seattle last week with Chi Jin Ping, the President of China. Jerry Riibe invited attendance at the Progress Breakfast on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 with a tour of the new Jefferson School included. Mary Odell celebrated with her family this past weekend as her parents had their 65th wedding anniversary.
 
Program: Chuck Swanson, Hancher Director was introduced by Sarah Lande. Chuck gave an informative presentation on Muscatine's relevance and importance to Hancher.  He reminded us of the Geoffrey Ballet, Ballet West II and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band commemoration of the 2008 flood.
He also talked about the importance of student artwork from West Middle School and how the student work will be a part of a piece of artwork to be displayed permanently at Hancher.  He gave an update on the Hancher Building Project. New Hancher will seat 1800 and have a second floor cafe named the Stanley Cafe which will have culinary selections from Iowa City Restaurants.  The cafe concept is to encourage coming early and staying late!  New Hancher will open in 2016 and their will be a big splash and a lot of fun!!
