April 23 is the next evening Rotary meeting at WineNutz sponsored by Kundel and Hintermeister.

Program: Laura Leigois discussed and updated us on the Transfer Station, the Landfill and Refuse Collection. The Landfill opened in the mid 1990's and is still used today with collection methods including treatment of liquids and run off containment. We have 20-22 year s of landfill space remaining. The Transfer Station is the hub of waste management, with electronics, appliances, ewaste, batteries and medical sharps being taken care of.  Recycling is curbside today with Spring cleanup coming during the week of April 20th.  9000 residents and businesses are served. 95% of our residents participate in the recycling efforts.  Soon we will be using more automated trucks to pick up the garbage containers.  We have a 3 year plan to continue to update our garbage pickup which if completed in 1 year would be a $million project.  Rates are not going to be raised, therefore, it has become a 3 year process!!
