News and Happy News: Mary Odell and Diana Broderson met with HyVee to discuss our meals and would like your feedback in regard to the weekly meals. Keith Porter discussed the new option of meeting in the evening at a local business for a Rotary meeting and networking.  Interested in hosting a meeting at night let Keith or Shane Orr know. Planning on starting this option in January of 2015.  Our Good Will Project in December will be the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, please sign up in the notebook being passed among the members. We have received a $50 memorial gift from Jane Evans in memory of Dr. Dale Longtin.

Longtime Rotarian John Stevens and Dennis Taylor both received Sustaining Paul Harris Recognition. John was joined by his son and daughter-in-law.
Denny Taylor in Happy News is grateful that his son's family has recovered from the tornado damage in Washington,Illinois from a year ago.  Melanie Alexander shared Holiday Happenings at the Muscatine Art Center and invited participation.

Program: Chris Steinbach, Israel Gayton and Diane Campbell presented an update on Team MCSA's ride in this past summer's Ragbrai.  Several Rotarians rode as part of the 26 member team. Rotarians were Chris, Janet Morrow, Rich Dwyer and Jerry Riibe. The ride began as a fundraiser for MCSA and concluded as great team experience.  The ride did raise about $10,000.  Izzie Gayton stated that his participation changed his life...in addition to the 70 pounds lost while training... the concept of "we are all linked together" came clear to him as a motivation for his life. Diane Campbell experienced a big black eye but also learned about and appreciated the support found in a team....a group of persons working together!!  Chris enjoyed telling MCSA's story across the state and pushed to the forefront the issue of homelessness in Iowa.

A good time was had by all, through all the struggles.. Chris is looking forward to next year and yes, in January we will know if Muscatine is selected as the ending community!
