- Megan Francis- Exciting news from Trinity Muscatine. Following the announcement of the da Vinci 5 surgical robot, Trinity filled a three-year surgical opening
- Mike Ruby- Last week's presentation by the Haiti Eye Clinic was fantastic. Our club should consider making a donation during the matching period, which ends in September.
- Brad Bark- Muscatine Soccer Club welcomed 150 teams to town this past weekend for a fantastic soccer tournament.
- Diana Gradert- It is wonderful to see a full room of Rotarians. Thank you for taking the time to attend today. It would be great to see a full room every week!
Voluntell: Volunteer Hours & Opportunities

- Mike Wedell – 3 hours total: 2 hours tagging monarchs with Muscatine County Conservation and 1 hour donating blood through ImpactLife.
- Megan Francis – 2 hours total: 1 hour serving as a field marshal for the MSC Fall Tournament and 1 hour serving on the Members Community Credit Union board.
- Yesenia Cruz- 11 hours total: Attended Rotarian Day at RYLA.
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities:
- Junior Achievement: Volunteer one hour a week for five weeks. Contact Linda Wood at linda.wood@ja.org for more information.
- September 1-15: We will participate in the United Way Halloween Costume Drive. Bring Halloween Costumes to the August 14 Meeting.
- The week of September 21, we will partner with the United Way for an in-meeting diaper drive and service project in honor of National Diaper Need Awareness Week. Needed sizes are 5+, but all sizes are welcome. We will also collect baby wipes.
Club Business:
- Our September 28 meeting will be off-site at MidAmerican. RSVP sign-up began at today’s meeting. To RSVP, contact Michayla Horchem at Michayla@unitedwaymuscatine.org
- Service Project: Fall Hwy cleanup is set for October 9.
- Please consider supporting the Rotary Foundation, which funds both local and international service projects. Contributions may be made by ACH or check. Please contact Lindsey for more information. Thank you for your impact through Rotary membership and giving.
- We are currently accepting donations to purchase a tree in honor of Marv Krieger. Please see Lindsey if you would like to contribute.
